The Sliding Dulcimer

sliding dulcimer (2)

A 3/8 bourrée for two hammered dulcimers. The title of the tune arose one evening at a pub session when my small Oakwood Nocturne was sliding back and forth between myself and Nerys Gross as we took turns to play tunes on it. As Nerys was in the process of making herself a dulcimer at the time she challenged me to write a duet, and this was the result.
