Written for my wife Jackie’s 50th birthday. When I asked if she had any special wish for a present to mark the day she thought for a few moments and then, in all seriousness, said, ‘Slippers!’ So I joked that I ought to get her the pipe to go with them. I decided the tune should be in 7/8 as Jackie plays the bodhran, and it seemed appropriate to give her something that was rhythmically a bit challenging.
I like to play it with Pascharelle.
